The actual cost of education at PCHS is different from the cost of "tuition." Thankfully, we have an endowment fund that provides interest revenue that helps each student along with other gifts, thereby reducing the cost. The actual cost of education per student at PCHS is around $9,200.
TUITION for 2019/20 at PCHS is set at $7,500. Families contribute the tuition directly to the school over 9 months. One third to one-half of all families receive some form of tuition assistance through various scholarships and grant programs.
Due to additional program requirements, fees for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS are higher. Please contact a program coordinator to find out the specifics of our International Students Program.
It is due at the time of registration (July) and is one check for all Student, Technology and Family Service Fees. With the payment of these fees, all Pella Christian High students receive free admittance to the regular season, home athletic events and the annual theatre productions in addition to their personal Chrome book during the school year. The total cost of all fees for students will be approximately $485 for the 2019/20 school year.
For families in need of financial assistance there are two possible options:
- The Legacy of Grace Scholarship Tuition Organization (LOG-STO)
- The Tuition Assistance Fund
*Details on financial assistance and the application process can be found here.
Our commitment and promise to any family that desires a Christ-centered high school education for their child is that we will find a way to make it work. Approximately 1/3 of our families receive some sort of financial assistance (other than the endowment award). No family receives a full-tuition scholarship because we strongly believe that their needs to be some level of financial commitment from every family.
Two additional discounts are available: one to families who live 10 or more miles from the school (Distance Discount) and another to those with more than one child attending PCHS (Multiple Student Discount)
PCHS has an excellent hot lunch program. Meals for students are $2.50 per lunch. Bonnie Van Wyngarden and the rest of our food service staff work hard to keep lunch costs down by catering outside events and using the revenue for purchasing food and supplies for the food service program. Eligible families can apply for and participate in the federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Applications for this program are available in the school office.
