Growing Our Future

“That you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.”

My name is Ellie Rethmeier. I grew up on a farm north of Newton, Iowa and was home educated all through high school. In addition to the class work is did at home I dual enrolled at Newton High School to take Agricultural classes and participate in swim team. Growing up I was involved in 4H and FFA. Although working on the farm provided many unique experiences, these organizations helped me grow as a leader and discover my passion. As a result, I felt God calling me to pursue Agricultural Education as a career pathway. I graduated from Dordt College, now called Dordt University with a degree in Agricultural Education. In the fall of 2018, I started teaching at Pella Christian High and coordinating the new VO/Ag/FFA program.

Currently, I live near Leighton, Iowa on an acreage caring for five head of cattle, 5 Guineans, (birds), and four cats.
