Eagle Boosters

The Pella Christian High School Eagle Boosters is a parent organization that focuses on organizing, coordinating and facilitating fund raising opportunities for the various programs at PCHS. History

The "PCHS Booster Club" was organized in 1974 and has always been focused on raising funds for the various programs of Pella Christian High School. Over the years the participation in the Booster Club had dwindled, and as a result, a new leadership team was created. This new team resurrected the Booster Club and in 2006 renamed it the "Eagle Boosters." The new name was intended to be less exclusive and more inviting to all supporting the role and mission of PCHS. As a result, the Eagle Boosters eliminated the requirement that individuals pay a membership fee to be in the "Club". Since all students and departments benefit from donations made by the Eagle Boosters, all parents of students are considered "members". As such, parents are asked, encouraged and expected to participate in fund raising activities and volunteer opportunities.

Early in 2006, the PCHS Auxiliary requested a merger with the Eagle Boosters. The Auxiliary originated in 1937 and over the years donated over $414,000 to PCHS for equipment purchases and supplies. However, many of the fund raising opportunities of this group are no longer available or practical, and so a merger of these two groups seemed like a good and logical decision.

Activities

The Eagle Boosters continue to focus on many of the same fundraisers as in the past, such as serving food at the Tulip Time and coordinating the concessions at ball games. The Eagle Boosters also sponsor one-day events such as basketball and volleyball tournaments. This past year the Eagle Boosters had the opportunity to serve meals to the individuals traveling through Pella with the Great Iowa Tractor Ride. This event alone raised over $10,000 which the Eagle Boosters contributed to the New Campus Fund Drive.

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents that volunteer to assist with the activities of the Eagle Boosters (i.e., concession stands, Tulip Time booth, etc) are given credit toward their "Volunteer Hours". Two hours of service time equals one hour toward the "Volunteer Hours". Therefore, parents can satisfy their four hours of volunteer work by working eight hours for the Eagle Boosters. If you serve on the Eagle Booster's Leadership Team, you will automatically satisfy your four hours of "Volunteer Hours" for the school.

Baseball Concessions
If you are interested in assisting with the coordination of the baseball concessions this summer, please contact one of the individuals on the Eagle Booster Leadership Team.

Leadership Team
If you would like to serve a three-year term on the Eagle Booster Leadership team, please contact Ron Zantingh (628-8435) or Steve Haverly (628-2500). We promise it will be a rewarding experience!

Summary

The Eagle Boosters cannot function without volunteers. We need and expect the help and support of all PCHS parents. Every student at PCHS has and will continue to benefit from the fund raising activities of the Eagle Boosters.

We thank you for your willingness to volunteer and for your help at the various activities organized by the Eagle Boosters. It is wonderful to see everyone in the Body of Christ working together for the advancement of God's Kingdom here at PCHS.
