Throughout high school, I have been involved in band, choir, chamber choir, student council, cheerleading, tennis, and the musical. PC has allowed me to grow academically, socially, and spiritually, and I have been encouraged by friends, family, staff, and coaches to do my best in everything I do. I have learned to give God the glory for these opportunities and am grateful for His faithfulness throughout my high school years. After graduation, I plan to spend a gap year at a school of missions or ministry.

In the fall, I plan to attend Iowa State University to major in Horticulture. Throughout high school, I have been involved in volleyball, softball, tennis, band, colorguard, the musical, and Winter Speech. Each of these activities has led me to make new friends, challenge myself, and glorify God in all that I do. Winterim internships, an impact trip to Abaco, and the Netherlands Exchange Program have been unique experiences that have grown me as a person and prepared me for the future. Pella Christian has given me an amazing community of friends, coaches, staff, and parents who have poured into me and displayed what it means to live for Jesus every day. I am so thankful for how God has used Pella Christian in my life over the last four years, and I am excited to see what the future holds.

This fall, I plan on attending Dordt University to major in Business Management or Marketing, run track, and play soccer. Throughout high school, I have been involved in track, soccer, tennis, cheer, choir, and worship team. These activities have taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance and giving glory to God in every high and low. I’m thankful for how the staff at Pella Christian have helped deepen my faith through classes, chapels, and servant-hearted leadership. I feel prepared to follow Christ anywhere I am called! I’m also grateful for the friendships I’ve made here. My classmates and teammates have modeled what it looks like to have joy from the Lord and been alongside me in my favorite memories during lip syncs, school dances, and even breaks between classes. I thank God for placing me at Pella Christian alongside incredible people who have influenced me through their love and encouragement! I can’t wait for whatever comes next, but will always cherish my time as an eagle!

After high school I plan on doing short term missions, spreading the gospel and serving people. I am super excited to see where God leads me through missions, and for the people I will get to meet along the way. After that, I will be doing cosmetology at PCI in ames. At Pella Christian I have been involved in volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, band, choir, and worship team. With all my roles at PC, it has taught me to be a leader and set an example for younger students. It has also taught me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. I will forever be grateful to go to school at Pella Christian, and for the countless teachers and coaches who have poured into me, and challenged me to be a better person. Thank you Pella Christian for a wonderful 12 years! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the next chapter.

Next fall, I plan on attending the University of Northern Iowa, where I will run track and major in exercise science with a pre-athletic training emphasis. While I am looking forward to taking the next steps in life, I will miss all that I have come to love at Pella Christian. During my time at PC, I have had the privilege of running track and cross country, both of which have impressed upon me the value of surrounding myself with Christian community. Having teammates rooted in their faith and committed to serving the Lord has kept me grounded, along with having coaches who emphasize my identity in Christ over my performance on the track or xc course. In the classroom, my teachers have integrated faith into every lesson, increasing my awe of God’s goodness! In both academics and athletics, PC has helped establish a strong Christian foundation in my life, teaching me the value of hard work, creativity, and Christian fellowship. I am truly thankful for my teammates, classmates, teachers, and coaches who have poured into me over the past four years.

Next Fall I plan to attend Iowa State University major in Business management. Throughout my years at Pella Christian, I have been involved in football, Baseball, track, spring play and soon to be involved in Golf. Thanks to my coaches, teachers and staff, who have really brought the best out of me, and truly made an impact on who I am today. These people have encouraged me, and answered all my crazy questions. Whether being in the student section, or walking through the halls, being a student here at Pella Christian has taught me how to become a leader, and a good communicator and overall a firm foundation in my faith. In my four years of High School I have learned who I am as a person and how my life story fits into God’s story. I thank God for all the joy and amazing memories that he has blessed me with, and I am excited to see what else God has in store for me.

My future plans are still up in the air but I plan to either attend Dordt University for business entrepreneurship or stay in Pella and start my electrical apprenticeship. I have run cross country and played soccer for all four years of high school and Pella Christian has taught me so many things that have impacted who I am. Now that I am a senior, I see just how fast high school went by and I also recognize how God has blessed me in so many ways. To hunting buddies and teammates to teachers and mentors, I have learned to have fun but also soak up the wisdom that is spoken to me everyday. I thank the Lord each day for the people around me and I wish I didn’t have to leave but I know the Lord has a plan for me to share the gospel. Thank you to everyone who has poured into my life and shown me the way of Christ.

As I get closer to the end of my time at Pella Christian the more I realize how great these last 4 years have been. I’ll miss my PCHS family, but I’m ready for what the Lord has planned next!

After graduation, I plan to attend Iowa State University and study either Psychology or Sociology. During my four years of high school, I participated in basketball, soccer, and baseball. In these sports, my coaches have mentored me and taught me sportsmanship and perseverance. Being a student at Pella Christian has shaped me inside and outside of the classroom, and I am deeply grateful for the relationships that I have developed with the teachers, coaches, and the whole staff. My time at Pella Christian has also nurtured my faith through Christ-centered education, which weaves Christian principles into everything we do. I am extremely grateful for everyone who has poured their time and effort into me in my past 4 years at Pella Christian. This fall, I plan to attend Drake University or the University of Iowa to study international business and finance. During high school, I participated in cross country, tennis, student council, and the musical. These opportunities have been the places where I have made friends and created many memories. At Pella Christian, I have always been pushed to be the best version of myself by teachers, coaches, and mentors. The opportunities Pella Christian has offered me over the last four years have significantly developed me, especially the winterim program. My sophomore year, when I went to Abaco, Bahamas, on a service trip, helped me grow in my already profound love for serving others. Throughout my time at Pella Christian, my parents, teachers, and staff have helped me grow in my faith. Thank you, Pella Christian teachers and students, for the last four years of my life! I am excited to see how God uses my gifts and talents developed at Pella Christian in the future!
