Elementary Education at Pella Christian
As a parent, you want your child to be at a school where they can establish a strong academic foundation and develop their gifts. But that’s just the beginning. You want your child to have an experience rooted in a biblical perspective that will equip them for success that stretches far beyond the classroom.
At Pella Christian, students are nurtured in their God-given gifts as they develop a lifelong love of learning. We partner with parents to provide an educational experience that complements what children learn at home. Faculty and staff create engaging lessons to encourage and challenge students toward genuine faith transformation.
Key Distinctives
Serving families in Pella, Iowa and surrounding areas, Pella Christian is a school where students from early education to high school develop their God-given gifts for a life of service in His kingdom. Like all academic programs here, the elementary school curriculum is rooted in Scripture.
Biblical Worldview
We’re committed to providing excellent academic training in the light of God’s Word at every stage of your child’s learning journey. Bible is more than a subject in our academic curriculum. In elementary school, your child will discover how God’s truth touches everything — from the classroom to the playground.
Teaching for Transformation
We foster a culture that invites and empowers students and teachers to play an active role in God’s story through everyday learning experiences. Faith is seamlessly integrated into everything we do at Pella Christian through the Teaching for Transformation framework. Students receive support from classroom counselors, attend chapel, and participate in discipleship groups.
Character Development
Formational Learning Experiences help students live out their part in God’s story. We strive to offer meaningful opportunities for students to do real work, for real people with real needs. It’s a tremendous opportunity for students to put their faith into practice to make a real, lasting contribution to the work of God’s kingdom.

Parent Partnership
One of the best ways to foster physical and emotional safety is to maintain a spirit of partnership with parents.
Each classroom has a volunteer parent to assist the teacher and serve as a liaison to parents for class events such as Christmas celebrations, teacher’s birthday recognition, or lining up additional volunteers to help with field trips.
Parents are invited to visit the classroom and join in for lunch — especially when it’s your child’s birthday or half birthday.
Healthy School Culture
We intentionally limit class sizes to make sure our teachers can value each student.
At PCS, you’ll find a joy-filled school culture where each of our students feels seen, known, and loved. This dynamic helps our faculty and staff understand students’ gifts, challenges, and potential. Onsite Christian counselors provide social-emotional support.
Safety is also a high priority. Our doors stay locked, we use a radio communication network, and our staff undergoes appropriate background checks.
Daily Schedule
Our elementary students’ school day runs Monday through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., five days a week, with the exception of Wednesdays when school dismisses at 2:30 p.m.

Valuable Learning Tools
Technology is a powerful, God-given tool. We want to steward that gift by using technology to enhance learning for our students. Students and teachers can access various technological devices and platforms to deepen their intentionally-designed learning experiences.
Enrichment Opportunities
Your child will enjoy many opportunities to participate in the many specials at Pella Christian. Students grow reading skills during library time, explore their creative gifts through art and music, and get active during PE. We also offer foreign language in the Elementary School, where students can learn Spanish while increasing global awareness.
Spiritual Growth & Discipleship
Discipleship groups at Pella Christian Grade School are made up of 1-2 students per grade level from kindergarten to eighth grade. These are active Bible studies where children dig deeper into their faith with a community of believers of different ages.
