Pella Christian is rooted in the Reformed faith and firmly believe that God is sovereign over all areas of life and learning, including our curricular and co-curricular activities. To fulfill the PC mission, our teachers and staff are supported by the Teaching for Transformation framework and our coaches are guided by the Coaching for Transformation framework. Recent Professional Development for teachers has focused on Teaching for Transformation, Deeper Learning, Student Support Services, and peer collaboration.

We are seeking highly qualified individuals who are in full agreement with Pella Christian’s Statement of Faith. Pella Christian Grade School and Pella Christian High School are accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI). Applicants must possess or be able to obtain proper licensure/endorsements as described in the job description.

Teaching Positions

Pella Christian Schools is prayerfully seeking a part-time High School Language Arts Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This part-time position includes one section of HS Language Arts.

Pella Christian High School is passionate about our mission to educate and nurture each student to serve in God’s world. Our team of first-class educators is committed to living out our mission by creating a culture that supports students as they grow spiritually, academically, and socially. We are currently seeking to add a qualified educator that inspires to support students, embraces collaboration, and desires to facilitate high-quality, student-centered learning.  

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education.
  • Have a Language Arts Endorsement and be able to obtain an Iowa Teaching License.
  • Preference, though not required, will be given to those with a Masters degree in Language Arts or Speech/Communications.

  • Demonstrate outstanding content knowledge and an understanding of the teaching and learning process.

Support Positions

Pella Christian School is prayerfully seeking applicants for a varsity boys basketball coach for the 2025-2026 season.  The position entails leading the high school boys’ basketball program, developing student athletes on and off the court, and fostering a culture of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship through the Coaching for Transformation Framework.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Prior coaching experience at the high school level (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration
  • Current coaching certification, first aid, and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Agreement with the Pella Christian Schools Mission and Statement of Faith, and membership and regular participation in a Christian church

Pella Christian Schools are prayerfully seeking applicants for a part-time kitchen staff position for the 2025-2026 school year.  The position could be Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The position entails assisting with food preparation, serving lunch, washing of dishes & utensils as well as clean up during the days school is in session.

Pella Christian Early Education is prayerfully seeking applicants for a part-time Early Education Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year.  The position entails assisting Early Education programs for a few hours each weekday morning for 20-25 hours per week. Responsibilities will include preparing and delivering snacks, helping maintain adult-student ratio in the classroom, organizing spaces and materials and assisting with daily needs as they arise.

Pella Christian School is prayerfully seeking passionate and dedicated applicants for a Cheerleading Coach for the 2025-26 school year. The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for organizing and executing the cheer program. This role involves coaching and fostering a positive team environment with the opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young athletes.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in working with students, parents, and administration.
  • Self-motivation, creativity, and organization.
  • CPR and concussion certifications.
  • Agreement with the Pella Christian School Mission and Statement of Faith, and membership and regular participation at a Christian church.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise a regular program of tryouts and practices for cheerleaders.
  • Give individual student instruction in the skills and fundamentals of cheer.
  • Make every effort to develop the talents of each participating student by utilizing personal attention and individualized instruction.
  • Closely monitor team and team safety during practices and performances.
  • Address behavioral and learning issues with students, staff and parents appropriately.
  • Communicate frequently with the Activities Director.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all cheerleading equipment and uniforms, and supervise the cleaning, storing, and safekeeping of equipment and uniforms.
  • Build a team culture around Christian values, including Christ-like sportsmanship and behavior.

Pella Christian School Transportation Department is looking for an individuals who might be interested in obtaining their Class B CDL, with School Bus and Passenger endorsements, to drive a bus route and/or activity bus for the 2024-2025 school year.  Individual training available by a certified trainer – whom can get prepare you for the Department of Transportation test in a day or two.  If you don’t feel this is for you, please tell someone that might be interested. This is a great opportunity for retired individuals with flexible schedules!
