Pella Christian is rooted in the Reformed faith and firmly believe that God is sovereign over all areas of life and learning, including our curricular and co-curricular activities. To fulfill the PC mission, our teachers and staff are supported by the Teaching for Transformation framework and our coaches are guided by the Coaching for Transformation framework. Recent Professional Development for teachers has focused on Teaching for Transformation, Deeper Learning, Student Support Services, and peer collaboration.

We are seeking highly qualified individuals who are in full agreement with Pella Christian’s Statement of Faith. Pella Christian Grade School and Pella Christian High School are accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI). Applicants must possess or be able to obtain proper licensure/endorsements as described in the job description.

Teacher candidates may be invited to visit campus for an interview and to teach an appropriate lesson. When a visit or teaching opportunity is not possible, candidates may be invited to interview through Zoom and asked to send a video recording of a class they’ve taught.

Teaching Positions

Pella Christian Grade School is prayerfully seeking applicants for a Part-time Middle School Science Teaching position for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.  This position includes teaching three sections 8th grade Science with a possible Science related elective. The contracted percentage range would be between 45%-65%.

Support Positions

Pella Christian Schools Food Service program has an immediate opening for a part-time cafeteria position on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Pella Christian Grade School.

Reports To:
Tauyna Van Maanen, PC Food Service Director

Part-time position:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when school is in session (no summers, holidays or snow days!)
Starting wage of $16/hour

Event Concessions Coordinator
Reports To: Pella Christian Activities Director and works as directed by the PC Eagle Booster Team.

Part-time position:
Estimated Average Weekly Hours over 52 weeks: 20-25 hours
Wages: $18-$22 per hour plus mileage for out-of-town pickups

Job Overview:
This position will support the PC Eagle Booster organization by assuming a coordinating role for all athletic events held at the high school and any other academic or fine arts events that have concessions requirements. Success in this position depends on a positive working relationship with the Boosters in promoting our PC community, communicating in a timely and positive manner with school staff, and exhibiting ‘best practices’ in representing PC in our local community as well as the various guest ‘communities’ we host on our campus. This role will be considered a staff employee of PC Schools and will be held to the standard of the school’s policies and practices. PC Boosters will provide the position’s financial support.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Purchasing and inventory management
    • All suppliers and menus proposed by Concessions Coordinator and approved by Booster club prior to each season
    • Invoice approval and submission to Treasurer
    • Food and supply cost tracking
    • Support of Tulip Time Booster committee with food purchasing
  • Stand preparation for each event
  • Scheduling of volunteers using the Sign-up Genius program
  • Cash box preparation / replenishment & event deposits
  • Attend monthly Booster meetings
  • Orchestrates partnerships with individuals and businesses
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Education level:
    • High School Diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Food service experience: concessions, catering, or event-planning preferred.
    • Experience with Sign-up Genius, Google docs, Google sheets, Google slides,
      and email.
  • Specific skills:
    • Organizational efficiency
    • Inventory management using FIFO (first-in, first-out) process and maintaining inventory levels
    • Budget-conscious
    • Cost tracking capabilities
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong work ethic
    • Effective communicator
    • Adaptable to changes
  • Physical abilities:
    • Bending & lifting up to ~ 30 pounds
    • Small step ladder requirements

Pella Christian School Transportation Department is looking for an individuals who might be interested in obtaining their Class B CDL, with School Bus and Passenger endorsements, to drive a bus route and/or activity bus for the 2024-2025 school year.  Individual training available by a certified trainer – whom can get prepare you for the Department of Transportation test in a day or two.  If you don’t feel this is for you, please tell someone that might be interested. This is a great opportunity for retired individuals with flexible schedules!
