Pella Christian is rooted in the Reformed faith and firmly believe that God is sovereign over all areas of life and learning, including our curricular and co-curricular activities. To fulfill the PC mission, our teachers and staff are supported by the Teaching for Transformation framework and our coaches are guided by the Coaching for Transformation framework. Recent Professional Development for teachers has focused on Teaching for Transformation, Deeper Learning, Student Support Services, and peer collaboration.

We are seeking highly qualified individuals who are in full agreement with Pella Christian’s Statement of Faith. Pella Christian Grade School and Pella Christian High School are accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI). Applicants must possess or be able to obtain proper licensure/endorsements as described in the job description.

Teacher candidates may be invited to visit campus for an interview and to teach an appropriate lesson. When a visit or teaching opportunity is not possible, candidates may be invited to interview through Zoom and asked to send a video recording of a class they’ve taught.

Teaching Positions

Pella Christian Grade School is prayerfully seeking applicants for a long term lower elementary substitute teacher in the Spanish track for 6-8 weeks beginning in February 2024.

Pella Christian High School is seeking a mathematics teacher to begin second semester of the 2023-24 school year (January 2024). This is a part-time position with the possibility of full-time depending on the candidate’s qualifications and interest. The teacher in this position would hold a BA in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Mathematics and be able to obtain an Iowa Teaching License. Support Positions

Pella Christian High School is seeking a part-time ISP Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year. This is an hourly position that requires flexibility as the number of hours will vary throughout the year.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with school staff and the greater school community.
  • Fulfill the mission of PCHS to educate and nurture each student to serve in God’s world.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the application process of international students. 
  • Recruit homestay families and match international students with such families.
  • Provide consistent support for homestay families and international students to address relational, spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each international student.
  • Assist homestay families with medical needs of international students. Including setting up and explaining insurance for each student.
  • Organize and ensure required forms for homestay arrangements and student attendance are completed in a timely manner. 
  • Track financial stipends and tuition payments for students and homestay families.
  • Support international students throughout co-curricular activities.
  • Assist with International Student Orientation prior to the first day of school.
  • Assist in maintaining regular communication with sending parents.

PCHS Application for position

Pella Christian High School is seeking a part-time hourly custodian. This is 3-hours per day when school is in session. The position hours are flexible and can be performed any time outside of school hours. 

Job Requirements:

  • Agree to the Pella Christian High School Belief Statements
  • Uphold a culture of belonging in the school, and community
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Follow-through and self motivated when presented with obstacles
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • The ability to work effectively with school staff, the school community, and other representatives

Responsibilities:

  • Daily cleaning of assigned areas, including carpets, floors, and other surfaces
  • Weekly cleaning of assigned areas, including carpets, floors, and other surfaces
  • Cleaning of assigned areas as directed by the Head Custodian
  • Other duties as assigned
