Meet a Teacher

James E. Eyre
Degree: Early Childhood Education
Teaching Experience: 12 years
“Being a preschool teacher has been one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs. A love of crayons, glue, and finger paints is a must … play and creating is essential at this age. Your hope is to instill a love of learning and build a strong foundation that will carry them for years to come. Preschoolers need to feel safe and know they are cared for. We nurture social skills and learn how to interact in healthy ways with our classmates. I have always been (and will continue to be) impacted by each of the children I have taught. They amaze me with their perspective and how they see the world, through a lens of curiosity and wonder. I would not give up being a teacher for anything in the world.”
