We are pleased to announce Miss Ella Bandstra as Pella Christian School’s kindergarten paraeducator for the second semester. Miss Bandstra is a Pella Christian High graduate and a recent graduate from Dordt University. Ella is engaged to Ethan Lubbers. She shared “I believe that every student is made in the image of God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth! Every student should be encouraged to use their abilities and talents to further glorify our King. I envision applying this by ensuring every student’s voice is heard, their talents acknowledged, and challenged to apply their God-given gifts in their everyday lives. Ms. Kendy DeHaan
High School Language Arts Teacher
We are pleased to announce Miss Kendy DeHaan as Pella Christian School’s high school language arts teacher for the second semester. Miss DeHaan graduated from Calvin University in May of 2024. She has recently been an English Language Assistant at Multilingual Education Development & Support (MEDDEAS) in Barcelona, Spain. Miss DeHaan shared, “Christian Education is at the heart of my story. I attended Christian school from kindergarten through college. As an educator and life-long Christ-follower, PCHS is a compelling fit. Joining PCHS means aligning with my life-long goal of serving the Lord. I want to equip a generation of change makers to engage in the world in love and service for Christ. Teaching is one of the most beautiful and rewarding professions. High schoolers are at a turning point in their lives, which can feel stressful and turbulent. They need a Christ-centered community to support, guide, and challenge them as they navigate their way in the world. Middle School Science Teacher
We are pleased to announce Miss Olivia Van Wyk as Pella Christian School’s middle school science teacher for the second semester. Miss Van Wyk is a recent graduate from Central College and engaged to Pella Christian grad Noah De Boef. She shared “I am enthusiastic for the opportunity to educate the next generation in a classroom where we learn problem solving skills all based on Christian values.
